Reservation is indeed one of the greatest malaise of our society in the disguise of social justice....God knows when we ll be cured of this disease..
Was expecting a subjective take on reservations rather an objective one as written above!!

Reservation is merely a political game as it seems.

Soon a stage will come where Upper caste will also start agitate for reservation for them too....

We do see only in India people craving for "Lower Caste" title in their certificates

here are some points

if somebody doesnt need any reservations, that someone doesnt deserve any reservations(irrespective of what his/her caste may be).

we are having a scenario where every particular set/group/creed of people is trying to prove themselves a trifle more backward than the others.

in every case whether its sc/st or obc there can be no denial that inclusion of certain caste / sects were based on politics rather than any criterion which may exist.i wont name any caste group since i m definitely against such classification but then one of these castes were involved in a dispute with gujjjars lately.

if indeed any such criterion may exist, there can still may no validation as to how great it may be. except for the criterion of economic status which the govt fails to recognize(since it wont get it a consolidated recognizible vote bank)

india has changed . from nehru 's fabian socialism n bulshit,we have actually moved on to being a forward looking smart and confident set of people.
when that communist era that era of license raj is dead, is it not fair that all remanants of that era be it caste based politics and reservations, and ofcourse people playing such games the likes of arjun singh,a ramadoss also die their natural deaths. renaming dalits as harijans wud just change d nomenclature. social change wont come by token like reservations either.appeasement policy didnt work in period prior to second world war .it wont work now

the conflict b/w gujjars n meenas shud give us some lessons that u cant counter fire with fire. it is for anybody to see how such dangerous liasions are in disguise the divide and rule policies followed by d british in slavish india. when we didnt accept it then, why now.

anybody and everybody who tends to project india as a multi nation is on the beaten track and wud only cause harm. india is a multi cultural nation but it is one. such demonstrations of multitudes on d basis of caste wud lead such to perdition.

I believe merit shouldn't be sacrificed, we need to strengthen our primary and secondary education system before we try to linger with quick fixes on tertiary levels

The best way would be to support the OBC with better monetary and other facilities. Maybe even the monetary support can extend upto certain consumerl goods where some disconts can be offered. Provide them with more and more faciities so that they can compete and ar given opportunities to compete along with everyone.

Problem to implement any solution will be the implementation of how we can identify an "OBC". Peopel who have been identified as an OBC, wil they accept the fact that they no longer belong to OBC becaus ethey financially well of ? Over the years the idea should be to pull everyone upto a certain economic level and after that if they need to progress, they need to work on it.

India is the only country where people fight to be called backward rather forward.Let them reserve the other 50% to some class. And moreover some politicians are still not happy not finding the so-called-creamy-layer in the coup.Shame to have such a democracy. Is this what is called a free India?

This entire reservation idea makes no sense. It is only in India that people fight so much to prove that they are backward. As a result of the reservation the general category seems to have been sidelined and even if these people are ensured of seats inside IIT ,how would you ensure that their performance will be competitive in the institute.

The exclusion of creamy layer is historical but then we need to ensure that the government does not make some stupid limit of annual salary to define creamy layer. That needs to be challenged.
