The shots he used to play few months before had the least to do with Gravity.70-80% of his runs were scored of boundaries, with a hundred plus strike rate. But it’s a changed scenario altogether. He might have reduced the number of sixes he used to hit, yet within a short span of 7 months this Gentleman has turned out to be a boon for Indian cricket. He is M.S. Dhoni
He’s a thinking captain. His initiatives and his innovativeness have always been questioned unless they have proved fruitful.
Which captain would ask Robin Uthappa to bowl at the stumps against Pakistan, in a do or die situation? He did.
Which captain would throw the ball to someone like Joginder Sharma, in the deciding over of a World Cup Final? He did.
Which captain would survive against Australia in Australia without Dravid and Ganguly in the team? He did.
And all of his decisions gave Indian cricket, memories to cherish forever. After they had won the second finals against Australia, the whole Indian camp jumped in the air, screaming and celebrating their own ways, but the man who still remained cool and composed was M.S.Dhoni, as if he exactly knew what the result would be.
While he was asked to carry the trophy he asked his teammates, “Who’s the youngest one here?”…”ME” said Piyush Chawla. “Raise the trophy then”. No matter who, whether its Sachin Tendulkar or Piyush Chawla, the equanimity with which he regards them is something that has changed the confidence of the entire team on and off the field.
When asked if he had ever thought that he would get a whopping sum of 6 crore at the IPL?… “I never thought about anything. I can’t change anything which would happen in future. I didn’t think much about the IPL because I was sure that neither can I raise my price nor could anyone get me for cheap”.
WELL SAID CAPTAIN!!
I couldnt watch those ODIs. And I cant judge too quickly if hes a ‘thinking captain’. But I seem to be convinced is that hes one who doesnt think too much about himself! He seems to be a quite balanced individual. Hope he remains that way. We need people like him to survive the glamour, money and ofcourse, the pressure of this game.
keep it up dost………
well said!!!!!!!!!!!
“His initiatives and his innovativeness have always been questioned unless they have proved fruitful”as far as i think and i know or should i say as far as this world is concerned, since the earliest era initiatives and innovativeness has always been questioned…why?because if u have any talent, skill or art then u have to prove it..nobody is going to accept it unless u give a strong backup to what u contain.
