AN AWARENESS

Withered flowers that scoured down,
Lonely they wait for the voyaging wind to blow,
With a sadness that no longer hesitates to flow.
They fail to smile, yet they do not frown.
Are these flowers ancient? That they descend with glory,
Alas! They are down! Down to fight their fortune’s fury.
Happiness still prevails among the flowers of their age group,
Why have they withered? Neither are they weak nor do they stoop.
Slowly I budge towards them with a striking fear,
To everything I ask, they drop an unwanted tear.
“AIDS” was the reply I hear, as they yet cry to beat their pain,
how could they stop crying, when confidence they can’t even gain.
What fads and foibles do they posses on face?
That has discarded them from the human race.
Why are they despised for what they haven’t done?
Is it a sin having AIDS or the fact of having born?
Not knowing which direction to take,
At this juncture silently they stand,
For happiness that vanished, they cry for its arrival sake,
Hoping that some one would come and hold their hand.
Let’s not give them false hopes,
They aren’t seeking pity, or sympathy,
Lets do, the very least we can
Let’s treat them like human beings.
Very good verses….appreciated..
Keep such poems comming sharath
Beautiful flow Sharath.
Loved every line of it.
Beautiful poem Sarath… One small comment. You can avoid the word “like” in the last line. It will give a punch instead of begging.
Good effort.. keep it up

@Abhay .. thanks a million tonne Abhay…
Thats a beautiful poem… Poems can do what vehement speeches can’t. It could readily reach people’s heart more than the mind….. The effect would be all together different when it reaches the hearts…..
Great work. Kudos buddy…
Hi Sharath
What i meant is there is no need for the “like”. already they are human beings. so they should be treated as humanbeings, not like human beings. Hence the line may be “Let’s treat them HUMAN BEINGS
A nice thought well versed.Let these ideas come in verses.
Love the poetry. keep it up. <3
